macOS app that transcribes meetings on-device and has Claude write the minutes — no uploads, no paid API.
Swift
Claude Code
Overview
Record a meeting in the app or drop an audio file: Starling transcribes it on-device with the macOS 26 speech engine and hands the text to the Claude Code CLI you are already signed into to write the minutes, one folder per session. The summary language is independent of the spoken one, the UI speaks FR / ES / EN, and the AI is pluggable (Codex, Gemini, or fully local with Ollama). Swift + SwiftUI, universal binary.
Key technical specs
On-device transcription with Apple's SpeechAnalyzer / SpeechTranscriber (macOS 26) — a 1 h 49 min meeting transcribed in under 3 minutes.
Records system audio (ScreenCaptureKit) mixed with the microphone, or takes any dropped audio file.
Only the transcript leaves the audio pipeline: the AI CLI runs in plan mode with no tools, no MCP and an empty working directory.
Pluggable AI: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini or fully local Ollama; summary language independent of the spoken one.
Swift 6 with complete strict concurrency; session folders written with owner-only permissions; UI in ES / FR / EN.
Two-phase test runner (full build + 10 headless suites) and a structural check that keeps the core free of UI and Speech imports.
